On September 23-24, you are invited to join members of the Academic Technology team to discover the role that collaborative learning, facilitated by IT, can play in our classrooms. The event, Flattening the Classroom: Building Collaborative Learning Environments, is a two-day virtual focus session, organized by the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative.
Through a series of virtual presentations, lightning rounds, and discussion sessions, we’ll explore an approach to learning that engages students in the active construction of collective knowledge, empowering them to build meaning together and challenging them to examine issues from multiple perspectives. The event is designed to be interactive and participatory; our on-campus team will be watching the presentations as a group and then engaging in guided group discussion and reflection around the issues, helping us drive home the lessons learned and laying the groundwork for future classroom collaborations.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, September 23-24 from 10a-3p and CU’s Academic Technology team invites you to join them in Stadium 367.
By participating with the team, you’ll have an opportunity to meet new colleagues, learn about projects already under way on campus, and begin building connections that will last beyond the event. If you’d like to join us, please e-mail Mark Werner by the end of the day Monday, September 21st to reserve your space.
